The Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (the “JDS”) Program aims to support human resource development in Cambodia through Japanese grant aid, targeting highly capable, young government officials and others who are expected to engage in formulating and implementing social and economic development plans and to become leaders in the country by means of accepting them in Japanese universities as JDS fellows. The Program is honored to announce 2012 scholarship program as follows.

Explanatory Meeting:
Round 1: September 17th(Sat) 9:00~ @ CJCC in Phnom Penh
Round 2: October 8th(Sat) 9:00~ @ CJCC in Phnom Penh
Round 3: October 15th(Sat) 9:00~ @ Prince d’Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap
Recruitment & Selection Schedule:
- Opening date for recruitment: September 8th(Thu), 2011
- Closing date for application: November 14th(Mon) 16:30hrs, 2011
- 1st Selection (document screening): December, 2011
- 2nd Selection (technical interview): Mid of January, 2012
- Final Selection (Operating Committee interview): Beginning of February 2012

The Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Asia (JISPA) was first introduced in 1993. It is funded by the Government of Japan, administered by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and conducted at various graduate schools in Japan. Its objective is to contribute to institutional capacity building in economic policymaking to promote the sustainable growth of emerging and developing economies in Asia and the Pacific. By training future macroeconomic managers in these countries, the JISPA aims to enable them to better formulate sound economic and financial stability policies needed for sustainable growth and development.

Erasmus Mundus – MSc European Forestry scholarships Application deadline for the 2011-2013 study period is December 31st 2010 for the applicants seeking Erasmus Mundus scholarships categories A and B (20,000 – 48,000 euro). MSc EF is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Masters course in forest sciences, policy and management jointly organised by seven leading European universities and supported by the European Commission. MSc EF focuses on the international dimensions of forest resource management and utilisation and prepares students to understand the forest related ecological conditions and socio-economic dynamics in Europe.

Learning Institute: Call for Student Research Proposal
The Learning Institute is calling for proposals from students, researchers and individuals to apply for three types of research grants. The Learning Institute is a non-profit Cambodian organization working with a wide range of civil society, public and private sector to contribute more effectively to the sustainable management and fair use of natural resources for the benefit of rural people. As a center for participatory and innovative learning, the Learning Institute works towards its mission through action research, facilitating collaborative arrangements, information sharing and capacity development at local, sub-national, national and regional levels.
